Concern over labour shortage persists

Val Litwin is hopeful that Pamela Goldsmith-Jones, the newly elected MP for the West Vancouver-Sunshine Coast-Sea to Sky Country riding, is making Whistler’s labour shortage one of her priorities.

“I get the sense this is one of her top items as our representative,” said Litwin, CEO of the Whistler Chamber of Commerce. “This has been a dialogue we’ve had more than once with Pam. Whistler is an important (area) in her riding; it drives almost a quarter of the tourism export dollar.”

Goldsmith-Jones addressed a crowd at the chamber’s Special Power Brunch last Wednesday (Jan. 13) at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, sharing stories from Ottawa, talking about local issues and taking a handful of questions from the crowd of mostly businesspeople. Read More…
